SPECIAL RULES (Unless otherwise ordered by a Judge) 1. Questions concerning appearance bonds should be directed to duty judge. 2. Contempt of court bond for failure to appear in a criminal/traffic case is $500.00 for the initial offense. Each additional contempt of court bond is $2,500.00. Contempt of court for failure to appear on a Judgment Debtor Rule is $500.00. 3. All bonds for out-of-state defendants with no local address and/or without picture identification shall be double the above, up to a maximum of $2,500.00 per ordinance violation (La. R.S. ­ 15:81). 4. All traffic bonds involving oversized vehicles - $500.00 per offense. 5. Appearance bonds for all municipal ordinances not listed above and all state misdemeanor statutes - $500.00 per offense. 6. The EBR Sheriff's Central Booking and the Constable's office are authorized to dispose of criminal traffic contempt matters (bench warrants) in accordance with the following guidelines, unless otherwise specifically ordered by a judge: 10

I. Bench warrant notices where the amount of fine is noted on the face of the warrant. A. Accused may pay fine, cost of court and the contempt penalty as noted on the warrant. B. Accused may assert his/her innocence and post a bond in accordance with the fixed bond schedule. If bond cannot be posted, the accused is to be bound over for jail call out the following morning. II. Bench warrant notices where the amount of the fine does not appear on the face of the warrant. A. Accused may pay his/her fine in accordance with the set traffic court fine schedule and an additional $50.00 as a contempt of court penalty. B. Accused may assert his/her innocence and follow the same action as outlined in I.B. above. III. Bench warrant notices on traffic tickets not covered by the fine schedule and criminal cases where the amount does not appear on the face of the warrant. A.
