NOTICE TO REAPPLY FOR EXEMPTION
(Use either [1] or [2] with first paragraph):
The enclosed application form is an exemption for property taxes which you received last year but for which you must reapply before May 1 of this year. In order for this application to be valid, you must furnish the information it requires. If the application is not timely filed, the exemption must be denied. However, upon a showing of good cause, the chief appraiser may extend for one time the filing deadline for a period of up to 60 days. [1] The chief appraiser is required to cancel a granted exemption if he discovers any reason why the exemption should not have been granted. In such an event, the chief appraiser will deliver a written notice to you within 5 days after the date he makes the cancellation. OR [2] A granted exemption is required to be cancelled upon the discovery of any reason why the exemption should not have been granted. In such an event, a written notice will be delivered to you within 5 days after the date the cancellation is made.
