REGISTERED AGENT All corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships doing business in Alaska must have a registered agent with an Alaska state address. The registered agent must be an individual resident of Alaska or a corporation authorized to transact business in Alaska. A corporation may not act as its own agent. Attorneys and incorporated law firms can also act as registered agents. The registered agent receives biennial report notices, accepts legal papers served on the entity, and forwards them to the last known address of the entity. Registered agents must have an Alaska address. If the mailing address of the registered agent is a post office box, the registered agent must also provide their physical address. To change the registered agent or the address of the registered agent, a form must be completed and submitted with a $25.00 fee. There is no fee associated with the resignation. The resignation is effective 30 days after receipt of the notice unless the entity appoints a successor agent sooner.
