E xcerpt from Local R ule 83.1 A ttorneys: A dm ission to P ractice and D isciplinary P roceedings. a) B ar of C ourt. T he B ar of this C ourt consists of those persons previously adm itted to (and not rem oved from ) the B ar of this C ourt and of those persons who hereafter are adm itted under this rule. (1) Any attorney who is adm itted to practice before the S uprem e Court of Alabam a m ay be adm itted to the B ar of this C ourt upon the subm ission of an application, paym ent of the prescribed adm ission fee, and (A ) the order of a district judge of this C ourt (on oral or written m otion by a m em ber of the B ar of this C ourt or on the C ourt's own m otion), and the adm inistering of the prescribed oath before any judge (or other designee) of this C ourt; or (B ) the filing of a certificate of good standing from the C lerk of the U nited S tates D istrict C ourt located within the district in which the applicant resides o r regularly practices law. (b) A ppearance P ro H ac V ice. A ny attorney who is not a m em ber of the B ar of this C ourt but who is adm itted to practice before the U nited S tates D istrict C ourt for the district in which such person resides or regularly practices law, m ay, upon request, be adm itted pro hac vice by an order of any district judge, m agistrate judge, or bankruptcy judge of this C ourt. A certificate of good standing from the district in which the attorney is adm itted m ust be attached to his/her request for adm ission pro hac vice.
