10 SUPPLEMENTAL MOTION FOR
vs. PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION
I1 Joseph Richard Pedro,
12 (No oral Argument Requested)
Defendant.
13
14 Pursuant to 18 U.SC. § 4241, defendant, by and through undersigned counsel,
15 hereby moves for a court order for a psychiatric evaluation of Joseph Richard Pedro.
16 This motion is made because the defendant may have been suffering from a mental
17 disease or defect to at the time of the offense. In order to properly prepare a defense
18 and/or mitigation defendant requests funding for a full psychiatric evaluation. Given
19 that this is the most serious of accusations, Defendant considers this request essential
2Q to a possible defense of insanity. This request is based on undersigned’s contact with
21 Mr. Pedro. Undersigned has met personally with Mr. Pedro at CCA . Based upon
22 counsel’s observations and interaction with Mr. Pedro, an examination is warranted.
23 Thus, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. §4241 (a) & (b), defendant request that the Court
24 order a psychiatric examination of the defendant and that it be conducted by Dr. John
25 Hollebeek, 4801 S. Lakeshore #206 Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282, (480) 345-7755. Dr.
26 Hollebeek has conducted a partial examination of Mr. Pedro, but a more extensive
27 evaluation is required to properly prepare a defense.
