JOINT STATUS REPORT Pursuant to this Court's Order of December 3, 2007, the Plaintiff, L. Tim Wagner, Liquidator of Amwest Surety Insurance Company in Liquidation ("Liquidator") and the Defendant, the United States of America ("Government"), hereby submit the following status report. In the past month the lead negotiator for the U.S. Government has been out of the office for multiple weeks. While some progress has been made, no significant changes have occurred since the parties' last Joint Status Report. However, with the Government negotiator now having returned the parties expect to make significant progress on this matter in the coming month.
