I5 Comes now Defendant Ofhcer Michael Meelhuysen, by and through
16 undersigned counsel, and moves for a stay ofthe Court’s August 30, 2006 deadline
17 regarding dispositive motions, as provided in the Court's February 27, 2006

Scheduling and Discovery Order. The reason for this Motion is that prior to the

dispositive motion deadline Defendant Meelhuysen filed a Motion for Summary

Judgment based solely on the defense of immunity, which may dispose of the case
21
against him. Therefore, on July 11, 2006 the Court stayed discovery as to
22
.,3 Defendant Meelhuysen, pending the Court's ruling on the Motion for Summary
24 Judgment. In the event the Court does not dispose of the case against Defendant

1 Meelhuysen, Defendant Meelhuysen will need to complete discovery and assess a
2 dispositive motion on issues other than the limited qualihed immunity motion
3 pending before the Court. The current deadline for dispositive motions is August 30,
4 2006. Therefore, Defendant Meelhuysen respectfuily requests a stay of the Court’s
5
August 30, 2006 dispositive motion deadline.
