Dear Prospective Admittee: Pursuant to Local Rule 83.5 (b) - Bar Admission, any attorney admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of the United States or the highest Court of any state may become a member of the bar of this Court. Please complete the application and return it to the Clerk's Office. Once the application has been approved, you will be contacted to make an appointment to appear for the taking of the Oath of Admission administered by a Deputy Clerk in the Clerk's Office. Your sponsor DOES NOT need to accompany you. After you have taken the oath, you will complete a bar admission card and pay a $160.00 fee. Please make your check or money order payable to: Clerk, U.S. District Court. DO NOT send the fee at the time you submit your application. The District Court has adopted the Standards of Professional Conduct for Litigation In The Seventh Federal Judicial District. Attorneys admitted to practice before the District Court are obligated to conform to these standards. A copy of these standards is available in the Clerk's Office and is also included on the court's web site, at: http://www.insd.uscourts.gov You should make yourself familiar with this information. By signing the bar admission card, along with taking the Oath of Admission, you agree to abide by these standards.
