Re: Admission To Practice In Federal Court Dear Admission Applicant: Any attorney whose professional character is good and who is a member of the Bar of the State of Vermont or any federal district court within the First and Second Circuits is eligible for admission to the District of Vermont Bar. Admission is upon oral motion made by a sponsoring attorney who has been previously admitted to this court. The application fee of $150.00 (made payable to "Clerk, U.S. District Court") should be presented in person along with a completed application. Applications received through the mail will be returned. Attorney admissions are generally scheduled for the first Monday of the month. Counsel should confirm the admission date by calling the Clerk's Office (at the Burlington or Brattleboro locations) to avoid inconvenience or unnecessary travel. A copy of the Court's Local Rules of Procedure is enclosed. Admission candidates should become familiar with the contents prior to admission. Lastly, Vermont counsel interested in serving on the Court's standing Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel should complete and submit the CJA Panelist Application found separately in the Appendix of the District of Vermont's Criminal Justice Act Plan.
