Would your students enjoy playing "Environmental Jeopardy" or designing a mock groundwater aquifer to learn about potential contamination? These are examples of interactive presentations the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is happy to offer to Hoosier classrooms this spring. The interactive presentations will provide students with examples of environmental careers while teaching them about our environment. Presentations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each school may request up to four presentations (30 ­ 50 minutes each). Please allow time in between presentations to set up for the next class. Grades pre-kindergarten through 6th are eligible for presentations. Please note that due to the interactive nature of our presentations, the audience size should be limited to a maximum of 50 students. For groups larger than 50, a game of "Let's Play Environmental Jeopardy" will replace the regular presentation. A multi-purpose room (i.e. cafeteria, gymnasium, band room, auditorium, etc.) is necessary for this game. Please coordinate with your teachers to complete the request form below (Please submit only one request form per school). IDEM must receive your request no later than the second Monday of March. Please be sure to include all the information from the request form in your correspondence, or simply attach the completed form to your e-mail. Confirmation will be sent, and the IDEM speaker will call the designated school contact to make presentation arrangements. Please hold classroom time open on the dates you request so that scheduling may be flexible.
