These instructions explain the procedure for accepting an appointment as guardian for a minor (a person under age 18) made in a parent's will. This procedure can only be used if the will has been filed in probate court in Alaska. If the will was filed for probate in another state, you must follow that state's procedures for accepting the appointment. If the will has not been filed in probate court in Alaska or any other state, use the PG-600 or PG-601 packet to petition for appointment of a guardian for a minor. June 2008 Alaska Court System
