Drop Off Site Locations include: East Moline, Milan, Moline, and Rock Island
All residents of Rock Island County can use any one of five regional drop-off recycling sites. Rock Island County is a proud participant in Rock Island County Solid Waste Management Agency and strongly believes in recycling and urges all residents to join our efforts.

PAPER Newspapers - Can be loose or tied with string. All newspapers, ad supplements and brown paper bags are accepted in this bin. Anything with glue or plastic bags are not acceptable.

CONTAINERS Mixed Plastic - Check the bottom of container for numbered recycling logo. Numbers 1 through 7 are accepted. Rinse, clean & remove all lids. Accepted items include milk/water jugs, laundry detergent bottles, beverage containers, butter dishes, yogurt cups, medicine bottles, and over the counter plastic. Unacceptable items include plastic bags, laundry baskets, plastic buckets, used oil containers, orange pharmacy bottles/containers, Styrofoam, chemical/pesticide/herbicide containers and toys. Metal, Steel, Tin & Aluminum Cans - rinse, clean and crush cans or stack smaller inside larger cans. Labels may be left on. Tin cans w/labels, lids folded inside the can, aluminum beverage containers, clean aluminum foil, empty aerosol cans, clean aluminum/tin pie plates are accepted. Items unacceptable in this container include plastic lids, spray paint cans, metal containers containing or used for gas/oils/ combustible liquids; wire, aluminum siding, and gutters. Glass Bottles - Food and beverage containers only. Containers must be rinsed and the lids removed. Labels can stay on. Clear, brown or green glass bottles are accepted. Windows, mirrors, pottery, and ceramic glasses/plates are not accepted.

Magazines/Phone Books - Deposit in containers at drop off center . All books are acceptable. Waxed or plastic coated paper is not accepted.

Cardboard - Corrugated cardboard only, please flatten and stack. Boxes with staples, brown paper sacks, chipboard, sacks with string, cereal boxes and pop cartons are all acceptable. Unacceptable is wax or plastic coated paper, feed/seed sacks, anything with food scraps.

Mixed Paper - Keep the paper dry and clean. Computer, typing, writing, photocopy paper, envelopes, light pastel colors, file folders, unwanted residential mail are acceptable. Unacceptable is carbon and other sensitized paper, blueprint paper, film/photographs, tape/glue, metal objects, spiral binders/ fasteners. (Staples are accepted)
