1-8. Rate of subcourse issue When enroll in a course or multiple subcourses, you will receive the first t~vo available subcourses. Upon you successful completion of one of those subcourses, we will mail additional subcourses. 1-9. Transcripts and copies of records a. Transcripts. Official transcripts list only those courses whichare included in the American Councilon Education (ACE)Guideto the Evaluation of EducationalExperiences#~ the Armed Seta,ices. Upon written request, we will send an official transcript to colleges or universities youdesignate and an informationcopyto you. In your request incIude your completename,address, and social security number (SSN);the schools in wlfich you were enrolled; tbe dates you compIetedthe courses; and the nameand address of the institution to which you want the transcript sent. b. Copies"of records. Students can print a copyof their records to verify completed subcoursesand courses througb the AIPD site: http://wwv,,.atsc.army.mil/accp/aipd.latm. Web 1-10. Voluntary withdrawal Youmay cancel your enrollment in the ArmyCorrespondenceCourse Programat any time by calling your student services team at (757) 878-3322, 5715, or 2169. 1-11. Cancellation of enrollment Enrollment will be canceled by AIPD the following reasons: for a. Completionof course or subcourse(s). b. Failure to satisfy the annual minimum requirements (see para 1-27). c. Student request. 1-12. Reinstatement To be reinstated in the ArmyCorrespondenceCourse Program, contact your student services team. Section III Administrative Terms 1-13. Subcourse The subcourseis the basic instructional unit of the Army Correspondence CourseProgram.A subcourseusually covers one subject area and consists of one or morelessons plus an examination. Completion a subcourse results in a of subcourse completionnotice (see para 1-22). 1-14. Course A course consists of one or moresubcoursesdesigned to support a specific professional field, skill qualification development, military occupationalspecialty (MOS)-related or tasks. Subcourses issued in the sequencelisted are each course. If a subcourse out of stock, the next available one is sent. Completion a courseresults in receipt of a is of course completion notice (see para 1-24). 1-15. Credit hour The credit hour is the basic work unit for correspondencecourse work. The numberof credit hours assigned to a subcourseis the estimatedtime required for an averagestudent to read the material and completu exercises and the all examination. For somesubcourses, the completeexaminationis online; for others, there is a blank answer sheet available on the A]PD site. Students mayaccess examinations only for those Web subcourses in which they are enrolled. c. Paper. Somesubcourses include an examination response sheet, TSCForm 59 (ACCP Examination Response Sheet), for recording examinationanswersand a pre-addressed envelopefor returning the response sheet to AIPD for grading. The sheet is preprinted with the student's name, social security number, school in whicb enrolled, and subcoursenumber edition. To be sure youhave the con:ect response sheet, verify your SSN,then check to see that and the subcoursenumber edition on the responsesheet matchthose on the subcourse. If there is a discrepancy,contact and the AIPD team assigned to your school. Please do not submit a response sheet issued to another student. 1-17, ATSC Form157 (Data Mailer) This multipurposeform is used by AIPD notify students of any of the following: exemption,subcoursecompletion, to

phase completion,course completion, or cancellation of enrolhnent. When possible, these notices are sent to students electronically. 1-18. Exempt credit a. Exemptcredit is given whenour records showthat a suhcourse was completed within 4 years before the new enrollment. The credit hours for an exempted subcourseare not addedto the student's accumulated credit hours for the current enrollment. b. To receive exemptcredit for an entire course that you completedthrough individual subcourseenrollments, you must meetthe eligibility requirementsfor the course, then enroll in the course~Subcourses previously completed will automatically be exemptedfrom your enrollment. 1-19. Promotionpoints Enlisted personnel in grades E4 and E5 earn one promotionpoint for every 5 correspondencecredit hours completed (per AR600-8-I9). Students are responsible to see that copies of completionnotices are placed in their DA Fomr201 (Military Personnel Records Jacket, USArmy). 1-20, Enrollment year The enrollment year begins on the date the application is processed tbrough the AIPD computerand ends 12 months later. The enrollment year ending date appears on data mailers as (EYE). 1-21. Retirement point Unit of measureused to determine retirement eligibility for Reserve Component National Guardpersonnel. One and retirement p0int is earned for every 3 credit hours of correspondence study completed (per AR140-1 and AR 1'40-185)i 1-22. Subcourse completion notice A subcoursecompletionnotice is issued uponcompletionof a subcourse. This is the only record a student will haveto showsubcourse credit hours completed. The notice is also proof of subcourse completion whenexempt credit is requested. (Eventhougha student maycompleteall the subcoursesthat makeup a course, if he or she is not enrolled in that specific course, a course completionnotice will not be issued.) 1-23. Phase completion notice Somecourses consist of multiple phases. A phase completion notice Is issued upon completion of a phase. Most nonresident and resident courses require students to present a correspondence phase completionnotice when reporting for resident training. See individual course listings for specific requirements. 1-24. Course completion notice A course completionnotice is issued to the student uponcompletionof a course. (Eventhoughyou maycompleteall the individual subcourses that makeup a course, you must be enrolled in the course itself to receive a course completionnotice.) 1-25. Certificate of Completion AnA1PD Certificate of Completion mailed to students uponcompletionof most courses. However, those phased is for courses with resident requirements as part of the course, tbe proponent awardsthe course completioncertificate. Combat Lifesaver Courseinstructors awardtheir students a course completioncertificate. 1-26. Diplomas A diplomais issued upon completionof certain correspondencecourses. The proponent school or agencydesignates courses for which a diploma is awarded. Section IV Administrative Proceduresfor ProgramsAdministered by AIPD 1-27, Required progress All students must meet yearly requirements as shownbelow to remain enrolled: a. Students enrolled in a single subcourse must complete the subcourse within 1 year from date of enrollment. b. Students enrolled in morethan one subcourse, but not in a course, must completeall of those subcoursesor at least 30 credit hours within each enrollment year. c. Students enrolled in courses or phases of courses must complete at least 60 credit hours each enrollment year (unless otherwise noted in the course description).

1-28, Grading system and reexamination a. Subcourse grades indicate the weighted percentage of correct responses. The minimum passing grade is 70 percent unless otherwisenoted in the course description, lfyou fail a subcourseexamination,you will be sent a second examinationresponse sheet. b. If youare enrolled in a single subcourse, your enrollmentwill be canceledaftur two failures of that subcourse. Youmust re-enroll if you wish to complete the subcourse. c. If youare enrolled in morethan one subcourse,the secondfailure will be treated the sameas if youwereenrolled in a course (see next parr). d. If you are enrolled in a course and you have failed a subcoursetwice, contact the AIPD team assigned to your school program.Failing a subcoursedoes not affect your continued enrollment in a course; however,all subcourses within a course must be completed (or exempted)to receive a course completion notice. 1-29. Certifying your work Wben submit an examinationresponse sheet for grading, you must click on the certification button if testing on you line or sign the statementon tbe responsesheet to certify dart file answerssubmittedare the result of your ownwork and that you havenot had access to copies of answersheets or solutions from others. This does not implythat youare prevented from discussing subject content with others whomaybe able to help witb problems.However, students are required to use their ownwork whensubmitting solutions for grading. Students are subject to UniformCodeof Military Justice (UCMJ), articles 107,132, and 134. 1-30. Awardof MOS/branch qualification a. MOSs not automatically awarded on the basis of Army are correspondence course completion. b. Branchqualification for commissioned officers of the ReserveComponents requires someresident training. See specific schools' academic offerings for requirementsfor branch qualification. 1-31. Student records a. The AIPD maintains records for each student. Students can view records through the AIPD site. Eachrecord Web contains administrative information about the student's status in the programand provides information on the following: (1) Course or Subcourse enrollment. (2) Subcoursesissued to the student. (3) Subcourses completed. b. It is important that you update your record to reflect changes in your address, name,or rank. 1-32, Change of address If you move,change your address through the A1PD site as soon as you have a pelwlanent address. Subcourses Web are mailed fourth class and are not automatically forwarded tbe U.S. Postal Service. If you are enrolled in courses by administeredby other activities, notify those agencies also. 1-33. Communication with AIPD Student services counselors at AIPD help with any administrative questions you mayhave.
