UNITED STATES BANKRUPTCY COURT DISTRICT OF COLORADO REGISTERING A JUDGMENT IN ANOTHER DISTRICT 28 U.S.C. SECTION 1963 A Judgment for Registration in Another District, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. Section 1963, is a "judgment in an action for the recovery of money or property now or hereafter entered in any district court which as become final by appeal or expiration of time for appeal..." IN THE DISTRICT IN WHICH THE JUDGMENT WAS ENTERED: 1. Obtain a Certification of Judgment for Registration in Another District. a. b. 2. This certificate will be prepared by the Clerk's Office. The fee for the certificate is $9.00.

A conformed copy of the Judgment for Registration should be attached to the certification. (A Clerk's Office may charge $0.50 per page to photocopy a judgment.)

IN THE DISTRICT IN WHICH THE JUDGMENT IS BEING REGISTERED: 1. 2. File the Certification of Judgment for Registration in Another District with the conformed copy of the judgment attached. Tender a $39.00 fee. Note: Effective 2/17/89, 28 U.S.C. Section 1963, as amended, will allow judgments to be registered at any time when ordered by the court of origin for good cause shown. In this situation, to register the judgment you would file a certified copy of the judgment, the order allowing registration and the $39.00 fee.
