REGISTRY OF MOTOR VEHICLES
ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
Rachel Kaprielian Registrar

We have received your inquiry about possible compromise of your personal identification information. To reduce the risk of someone using your identification fraudulently, we recommend you alert the major credit reporting bureaus. Their phone numbers and website addresses for reporting potential fraud are included below. Additionally, we recommend you notify your own bank and credit card companies and you may also want to call 1-877-ID-THEFT (a toll-free, government hotline). Credit Reporting Bureaus Equifax www.equifax.com 1-800-685-1111 Experian www.experian.com 1-888-397-3742 TransUnion www.transunion.com 1-800-916-8800 The Registry of Motor Vehicles can flag your record with an "Activity Hold." This helps prevent a license or ID from being issued in your name without your knowledge and consent. If you are interested in this feature, please complete an Activity Hold Form and send it to the RMV Enforcement Services Unit. Although an Activity Hold may be helpful, it cannot prevent all types of fraud. Therefore, it is a good idea to monitor your bills, your credit reports, and bank accounts regularly and ask questions about anything that is odd or unfamiliar to you. We wish you well in resolving this matter. Sincerely,

Catherine Connors Director, Enforcement Services
