MARICOPA COUNTY JUSTICE COURT

A MOTION can be filed by either party and is a request asking the court to take a specific action or to issue a ruling or order. When a motion is filed the opposing party may be given opportunity (10 business days) to respond or object prior to the judge's ruling on the motion. On request of either party, the court may schedule an oral argument before rendering a decision on the motion. Additionally, if a a response to a motion is filed (by a party) the party who filed the motion may be given opportunity to reply to the response. The Judge will consider the motion and any response or objections and will enter an order either granting or denying the motion. Both parties will be notified of the decision on the motion.
