Welcome! This speaker's kit is designed to share information with you and interested audiences about donating wisely to registered charities in Canada. As the regulator of charities registered under the Income Tax Act, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is committed to providing donors with relevant information on tax savings, donation receipts, the regulation of charities, and practical tips on how to avoid fraud. The speaker's kit includes:

Four information sheets about donating to charities that you can copy and distribute:

What is a registered charity? How can charitable donations reduce my income tax? How can I learn more about a registered charity? How can I donate wisely?

A slide show that you can present to help people understand more about donating wisely to charity. Posters that you can put up in your location Leaflets called "Giving to charity: Information for donors" that you can distribute

All of this information is included on the enclosed CD, so you can print extra copies as needed. You can also run the slide show from the CD. In addition to using the materials in the speaker's kit, I invite you to visit our Web site at www.cra.gc.ca/donors to learn more. If you have questions about the speaker's kit or the information in it, please contact the CRA toll free at 1-800-267-2384.
